Jaz and synths

Postby Amalgam » Tue Jan 28, 2014 4:57 pm

I guess most of you must have seen or read about the story behind Geordie and his guitars. However, I can't recall hearing or seeing Jaz elaborate on the various synths he has used during his musical career, which is a bit strange, because his synth parts (especially on the older albums) were quite crucial for creating a moody atmosphere (or -forgive me for saying it- atmosfear).\

I would love to learn more about what made him acquire at least an Oberheim and in the late '80s an Ensonique model.

WHAT SYNTHS HAS JAZ BEEN USING LATELY, ON AD AND MMXII? I find their sound really warm yet so eighties style.

Is Jaz behind the synths on the recent albums?

I guess he still uses his Oberheim, as he stated more than once, that, at the point where they took off the knobs of the synth, he wasn``t interessted anymore. And YES, of course he`s on the keys on any KJ album studiowise!!! But can he be sure not being replaced with digi sounds fom sound banks like Yoof used to to with Big Paul??? \
