Lyrics for Solitude (Demo)

Postby Sapromind » Thu Jan 20, 2011 11:34 pm

Anyone has them? I mean the demo from the remastered Extremities. This song kind of haunts in the past days, I'd like to sing along \:o\\
The lyrics seem to differ entirely from the final version.\
Maybe someone's brave enough to try and type them down?

it is an absolute classic this song.....i asked Geordie why it was so brutally altered by the time it was released on EDVRE he said ' i let them two,(coleman/atkins) get their hands on it!\
\
i think the lyrics are clear enough to understand to write down,i'll try and have a go over the weekend.

Thanks mate ^^\
But then again, I have a hard time deciding which one is better. Demo is better musically, but Jaz's vocals seem more 'pompous' to me. The final version is more balanced, so to speak. And those sounds in the very beginning (wtf is this?) are sweet.

Yeah, the demo version is really great and Jaz' singing, at least for me, sounds like a transisition from Outside The Gate to Extremities stilistically. With a better non-demo like production / soundquality it could easily replace the actual album version.\

Agreed! Imo this is Geordie using a fat delay or maybe reverb effect on the guitartrack... the one-man orchestra... \:D\ There is also a nice synth choir-like pad in the background. For a demo it's actually a great song.\
\
Edit:\
On the album version Geordie is basically doing the same without distortion plus it's played faster and altered a bit.

I am deffinately preffering the Album Version. It has more tension, more angst, more everything KJ. The demo Vers. to me, transports too much of the Brighter than a thousand suns attitude. Which by far is not bad at all, but for an Album like Extrimities ? , Geord did the right thing... by letting Jaz etc putting hands on... \
\
It`s deffo a winner, the final Version. Kinda Claustrophobic! GREAT! \\ \
\
I mean at least the non Echoing Guitr and the all dominating Keyboard/Piano line following every Ref is ace...\
\
that´s wot the demo lacks..K it`s a demo... \;)\

The extras on EDAVRE feel like songs from the first studio session-possibly without Raven(not sure about this).\
\
I like them but , fuck me, the final cut is flawless. Its their most consistent album. EDAVRE is beyond criticism.\
And for me Solitude is a highlight.\

Btw, it's a rare case when a demo differs that much from the final version. You probably have to be a musician to be able to detect any similarities \:o\\
And yeah, I agree that vocals smell a bit like BTATS/OtG era ^^
