CD 1 are just the normal versions of the songs.

CD 2 has mostly edits (shorter versions of the album versions) from the singles, eps etc. Interesting (and different to the album versions) imo are:
- The Beautiful Dead - Flexi-Disc Version (different mix, maybe a demo version)
- Jana is actually the Youth Mix from the same single

CD 3 has the "rarities", the ones different from what you may already know are and weren't previously released:
- Hollywood Babylon (Longer Intro Mix) is actually a complete remix
- Sixth Sun (Rough Mix) - Unreleased
- Timewave (Demo) - Unreleased
- Feast of Fools - Unreleased... has a part in it which was later used as the chorus for Penny Drops
- Four Stations of the Sun - Unreleased... this was floating around for years but only in pretty bad quality and was running ´too fast

All the other stuff is on the original singles, compilation albums, soundtracks etc.

What would have been much better would have been something like The Clash produced, which included all released versions from around the world on each cd in original artwork (no cigar wrappers...lol!).
I don't remember how much it originally was, but you can get it quite cheap now.

Despite whatever your feeling on The Clash, this is a quality product.

Mind you - they did miss out Train In Vain.

Am I kinda puzzled,or isn`t this my topic at all...who knows ? But could it be that you`ve missed this release? It doesn`t lack a single thing of official wwide releases in original replicas..

I did look at the Super deluxe Boxset Mr Punch, but it is indeed lacking many of the alternatives and b-sides from 12", remixes, different territory singles, versions, promos, tracks previously unavailable on cd, etc. unlike the Clash set which sought to include everything on each respective disc with source, release date, cat. numbers etc. - so is far more exhaustive.

The Joke boxset was priced at an astonishing £216 (I think the Clash one was around £80), which for an incomplete item seemed to me to be ridiculous. I bought the 3CD version, but it is infuriatingly lacking in detail as to where each track comes from, when it was released etc (I did warn you I was an old completist with ocd... ...lol).
IMO it was a wasted opportunity, when it could have been so much better.

Perhaps in future we can hope they will compile a reasonably priced remastered cd set of all the b-sides, remixes, extras tracks and EVERYTHING that hasn't been made available before?
