The oh-so brave new world of Rockisms

Well, it`s just a thaught. But I`m sure a good one that`ll give hints towards the relationship between Band and Fan.

Therefore I thaught it`s well placed here, as it is of course influenced by the recent circumstances but as well getting back in history a bit.

The Tours delayed and so`s the album! For God knows x times again.
The Rockworld nowadays - and I am not telling news hopefully - ain`t the same anymore concerned to sales...etc etc..even those "Superstars" (which might`ve mdae a minus of 6 Mill. compere to 2004...are going to deal with their "Hardtimes" and release everything possible to cope the drowning sales of the recent album etc...

How hard must it be for Bands like KJ? Who ever denied (except for a short term) playing the Rockstars...to deal with the circumstances nowadays? Every Album goes with a new record deal...means new orders, new this and that..new assholes to deal with.

So, instaed of beeing glad, that this Band`s still around and trying to give the best to the Gatherers, which might take a few month more..thjere`s moaning all over the place. I`n not talking about people and friends who spend a furtune for traveling etc (tho, knowing KJ...means knowing the risk)

But what about the Gems of Power Desaster???

The tenor was and probably still is: Wot a fuck! Wot a Rip-off..etc etc...

So here`s the Rockism: Everybody has the f..right to moan! But!!! Look at your bloddy CD shelfs....how many Bootlegs are on there? Ripped off the WWW? Anybody ever payed a bloddy f....cent for that towards the Band??? Is that OK??? I take wot I can get from them..but if they take a buck from me....I call for a laywer...for f...refunds..for bloddy equality??? While putting on the latest Bootleg CD from the Hosannas Tour??? C`mon Folks....

This is not fair ffs!

Punch, stop defending KJ over Gems of Power. People paid money for a preorder, it was postponed and people did not get a refund. That isn't on. End of that discussion.

As far as I'm aware, Killing Joke have never condemned bootlegs. I have bought every official album, compilation, DVD and quite a few t shirts. I've seen them live quite a few times. I'm the sort of person who collects bootlegs of the band, which is not the sort of thing that appeals to the general public: your average 5 albums and 2 gigs a year person doesn't know about bootlegs. So what's the problem?

However, when you talk about smallish bands, I understand your point. Loads of bands I love (Discharge, GBH, Exploited, Naplam Death etc) have part time jobs, and you feel sorry for them. You want them to be living the high life. But it doesn't work out like that. These bands play fantastic music, but not music that appeals to the masses hence their cult status. That's the way it goes.
