R.I.P. Jaki Liebezeit

The extra ordinary CAN Drummer passed away last Sunday age 78.

CAN were a huge influence for the 2nd wave of Punk aka Post Punk and New Wave and even Goth.

Jaz has had a kinda awakening listening to CAN...

So I think it`s fair to say: No CAN no Post Punk as we know it and...probably No KJ as we know them.

I knew CAN from my early Teenage Years on,but couldn`t cope with the "strange" sound until my late 20...when I discovered...so many stuff from the post punk and New Wave aera werr based on Krautrock!!!

Thank`s Jaki!

Hard to pick one...but give it a try

thanks for introducing me to CAN! Wow! Great stuff! I really dig it. I'd say by listening to CAN, since it's so early, no Industrial/electronica like KMFDM, Ministry, My Life with the Thrill Kill Cult too etc ...the early KMFDM stuff is very "KrautRock" CAN-esqe. But I suppose we can say that Industrial/electronica evolved from post punk, new wave, etc like you mentioned.

Glad you like it.
Yes,Kraut (silly word, but those were the days...) has had huge influences and was much more appriciated in e.g. Uk or so,even in the US..Im not sure, rather than in it`s own country.
Bowie,Eno,Fripp,Biaffra..just to name few were deadly influenced...

Try this:..I think it`s great too...

Faust (not to be mixed up with a fucking Neo-Nazi Band from Nowadays...so for more research add the Kraut...) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRxvQmTTz5I

Moebius&Plank: ( you know Conny Plank - producer od´f Revelations , Dieter Moebius is a German Musician who collaborated with loads of guys, even Eno..) I just detected this tune by accident,
a couple of years ago and was flabber gusted,as it realy sounds like the first sessions I had back than early 80s with my then Co Guitarist..where he was the straight one and myself the experimental one...crazy!

...and Neu! (former members of Kraftwerk) :Negatuvland from their debut and in my opinion the blueprint for Madness of KJ...am I wrong?

cheers
