Not a huge Prong fan, but your description of Raven as a person matches my findings entirely. RIP.

the real interesting points where that he said his bass's had to have a through string approach. the strings go through the body of the bass, he said that it gives a deeper tone..heavyweight sound. his pedal board was mostly Boss pedals, overdrive..autowah etc.\
at the time he was trying out some Jackson proto-type bass's i think,with ampeg amps.\
he recorded his first prong album using these and a old Music-man bass.\
wish i could remember more but it was a long time ago & we did have alot of beer. \:)\\
